[Case Study] Food Pack Counting System

A standard in factories. Automatically counts products flowing on the conveyor.

This is a typical case in mass production factories. The manufactured food packs are transported on a conveyor and move on to the next process one after another. There are instances where stockouts occur due to defects, and it is desirable to monitor production volume everywhere. A simple counting system has been realized through non-contact sensing. ◆ Applicable Product - Ideal IoT System ◆◆ Features - Non-contact sensing makes it less likely to experience failures or issues. - Sensors can be retrofitted, allowing detection at any manufacturing location. - Stable data collection is possible even in factories with a lot of metal objects thanks to LoRaWAN. - Data is automatically accumulated in Google Spreadsheet, displaying graphs and judgment results. ◆◆◆ Effects - Automatically records and visualizes production numbers. - Detects the presence or absence of pallets using similar sensing, allowing for the determination of completion of shipping tasks. - By comparing production numbers from multiple locations, it becomes possible to visualize the achievements and issues of specific manufacturing sites. - Data is accumulated in Google Spreadsheet (equivalent to Excel), making data reuse easy.
